About us
Established back in 1941 we have developed from a contract ploughing firm into the Midlands’ premier earthmoving, ground engineering and restoration contractor. This has been achieved by employing the right people and giving them the right tools to do the job and by developing our skills and knowhow based on our considerable experience.
Over the years we have adapted to the changes of advancing technology, increasing standards and the need to ensure higher levels of health, safety and environmental protection.
From estimating through to completion at Barton we are always looking for ways to engineer greater value for our clients and more creative solutions.
We are equipped to provide a total surface and below ground earthworks package and we can take on a broad range of projects from major highways improvements and trading estate development through to public and private landscaping projects.

Our own Health, Safety and Environmental standards are industry leading. We are also able to incorporate the systems, regimes and standards of our clients as required.
Environmental
In line with the Company Policy we undertake to do our work by minimising our impact on the environment. This means minimising the removal of materials and reusing it on site where possible and when removal is required this is removed as efficiently as possible. In the Group we operate our own landfill and recycling centres and where possible we use recycled inbound materials in preference of virgin materials. We aim to assist our customers to achieve their own BREEAM targets.
